Hello!

Hello, everyone!
We are starting a blog to further engage our students and give you an additional tool in your English learning journey!

We will post weekly tips, tricks and fun facts, include helpful links, and English learning related material.

We hope you enjoy it!

In our first post, we'd like to address a very common request from our students - how can I improve my pronunciation skills?

Pronunciation is a key aspect of your English skills, and is equally important to beginner and advanced students!! Maybe you are just beginning to learn English and would like to get ahead of the pronunciation issues. Maybe you are an advanced student with great grammar, but still stumbles when pronouncing certain words... Fear not!!

Englishclub is a great resource. Their pronunciation section is one of our favorites!
https://www.englishclub.com/pronunciation/

They not only provide you an audio file for each word, but they also have great quizzes!!!

Another great pronunciation resource is http://www.learnenglishfeelgood.com/listening/index.html

We would like to start this first blog post with an interactive question for our students. Which word do you struggle the most to pronounce??

  1. Hey, Ana!

Good tips! I too think that pronunciation is a very important aspect of the language and I see many of students interested in learning more about it. I'll make sure to have them check out these links.

    Thanks a lot.

  2. Hello, Ana! I really like your topic and post. However, I think you can improve some things. Please, see if you can reflect on my suggestions and do whatever you like with them.

    1) 'Hello' as the heading of your post might not help your students find it in the future (or know what it is about) after you have posted many other ones. Why don't you use the four skills (reading, listening, speaking and writing) to make it clear? Then, your students will be able to know what the post is about. I suggest the heading 'Speaking - how to improve pronunciation'. That's what I'll do in my blog...

    2) I think your post is quite long. I would rather take away the part where you introduce the purpose of your blog. I think you can communicate that purpose in class, or in your personal profile (on the right side of the page).

Please, don't feel offended by my suggestions. I love your post! And please, read my post and give me your suggestions.

    Warm regards,
    Lucas

  4. Hi Ana.

I liked the idea presented here - it is useful and also interactive. It is always a nice idea to finish up with a question to the readers. That way, you stimulate them to comment, right?

I agree with Lucas's suggestions - it is always good to keep catchy titles!

  5. Hello Ana,

I really liked the idea of having a blog for both teachers and learners. It seems to be a very nice place for sharing and connecting.

I got a bit confused with your first post, though. You started introducing the purpose of the blog and later on you talked about pronunciation tip. I'd have two separate posts; it'd be easier to be found and referred back, if needed.

    cheers!
